What is The Fountain of Grace?

The Fountain of Grace is a family of followers of Jesus Christ

who enjoy and share God’s grace.

We do this by growing in grace, excelling in ministry,

encouraging one another, and meeting needs.

 

The Values of The Fountain:

  1. Growing Grace - believing that God’s essential desire for the church is to glorify and enjoy Him by teaching, living, and ministering with the sufficient Word of God

  2. Excelling Ministry - believing that the spirit of excellence is a display of God’s way and will for His children in their pursuit of by constant and creative ways

  3. Encouraging Together - believing that believers are to fellowship and build one another up by total involvement using God-given gifts in the church

  4. Meeting Needs - believing that our church should address community concerns by doing good works and sharing biblical truths.

 

The Distinctives of The Fountain:

  1. Expository, application-oriented preaching vs. “feel good” messages

  2. Biblical Counseling vs. integrational approach of therapy

  3. Small group interaction vs. large group performance

  4. Combined worship vs. partial style

  5. Grace-sharing evangelism vs. high pressure witnessing

  6. Gospel growth vs. “seeker sensitive”

  7. Involved membership vs. spectator attendees

  8. Sovereign Grace theology vs. human ability

 
   

The Mission of The Fountain:

“The mission of The Fountain is to enjoy God

and His sovereign grace by equipping

believers for ministry and sharing grace

freely with our community so as to glorify

our great and good God”

The Motivation of The Fountain:

“We believe that the Word of God is alone

sufficient to change lives which will then

display the glory of God. We know that

the Spirit of God dwells in believers for the

purpose of teaching truth, growing in grace,

and loving others. We believe that the

gospel provides a way to God for people

through the blood of Christ based on

the sovereign grace of God. Healthy and

generous hearts are fruitful and multiply.

 

Our Actions of The Fountain (2010)

 

Growing Grace (becoming stronger in God)

  1. Provide and illustrate a direct definition of our church’s DNA.

  2. Continue our study of Romans learning the beauty of the Gospel as revealed by Paul. The righteousness of God is the theme and the glory of God is the focus. 

  3. Continue to resemble the Holy Spirit in His praise of God the Father through open hearts and voices. We will learn more of God through hymns and worship songs.

  4. Schedule and execute a conference to learn the Grace of God in theme and application.

  5. Consider ways to expand ministries of The Fountain.

 

 Excelling Ministry (involving truth and love)

  1. Consider and determine the viability of having a Sunday School type of teaching on Sunday.

  2. Officially organize a hospitality ministry that will support both the family and individuals in hospital stays, sicknesses, or other physical illnesses

  3. Investigate possible meeting places and select the best fit for the church to have Sunday services.

  4. Construct a viable youth ministry for 7-12 grades

  5. Furnish and encourage the sacrificial giving of both money and time in the pursuit of ministry.

 

 Encouraging Together (fulfilling the “one anothers”)

  1. Find and support a leader for the beginning of a men’s ministry complete with a prayer times, bi-monthly fellowship, and a fall retreat.

  2. Develop a more systematic approach for our women’s ministries.

  3. Strengthen the LifeGroups by monthly meetings with the leaders to insure unity of goals and purposes.

  4. Provide an annual focus calendar of activities, studies, and outreaches that will enhance spiritual direction and unity for harmony in body.

  5. Develop and seek to begin more LifeGroups.

 

 Meeting Needs (touching the community with grace)

  1. Organize and carry out passing out water in both the Memorial and July 4th parades.

  2. Continue to encourage being involved with servant evangelism to meet needs.

  3. Begin an outreach committee of 4 people to plan community giving of grace.

  4. Organize ways to promote Maximum Impact for 2010.

  5. Plan youth outreaches, youth service events for the teens to give to the community.
